Sometimes ignorance is bliss because the more stupid proposals I hear from political and cultural leaders, the more I am able to pinpoint where all this rubbish is coming from. £130 billion spent by unelected and unaccountable quangoes last year, £1 out of every £11 in council tax raised spent on the wages of a new breed of middle managers in our councils who have come from nowhere and seem to do nothing, £7 billion spent so far on the Thames Gateway project (one of Prescott's pet projects) which is overseen by 52 different quangoes and no-one knows how many houses have been built or where the money has been spent, nobody's accountable anymore, and democracy is being undermined at every turn.
